Some rare birds of the Lviv region are common in other parts of the world and some common ones in the region are rare outside it, but all of them are sure to be worth watching…and that’s what our Bird watching tour is about!
After getting picked up early in the morning you are taken to a couple of birdwatching hotspots inside the Lviv city limits to enjoy the sunrise and get used to a telescope and binoculars provided during the tour. Then you take a ride to a unique Roztochya Biosphere Reserve – a 400 m high plateau that lies to the Northwest of Lviv between the Sian Lowland and the Buh Depression, dividing the river system into two basins – the Baltic and Black seas. We see how beautifully the nature of the Polissya wetlands and the Carpathian Mountains meet on these hills. Dozens of waterfalls, birds of reedbeds, neighbouring with forest ornithofauna. Our experienced guide makes sure you see the best of the Roztochya forest reserve and maybe even spot a legendary white-tailed Eagle hunting above the peaceful and statue-still Janovsky lakes.
Making a stop a the Cholginy Ornithological Reserve definitely increases our chances to see numerous rare and habitual (but still magical) birds from the list:
