Zaporizhia city
An important industrial hub on the Dnieper River, Zaporizhia (Zaporozhye) has a rich history going deep into BC times and always ready to surprise its guests.
Touring Zaporizhia you can combine ancient and modern history of this important historical & industrial region of Ukraine. From taking a boat ride to Khortytsia island – a stronghold of the Ukrainian Cossacks for hundreds of years, to exploring the famous Dniprogess – an impressive hydroelectric station that was the first one to be built in Ukraine. In addition, if you want to go even deeper into history of this land – the land of ancient Scythians – take a whole-day trip to Kamiana Mogyla (“Stone Grave”- 120 km from the city) and explore unique archaeological monument dating back to the 20th-16th cc B.C. Also we can take you to the Mennonite colonies (in Molochna) and to Guliaipole (the native village of an anarchist Nestor Mahno – one of the mysterious and unpredictable figures of the Ukrainian revolution and civil war of 1918-1920).
Keep in mind that though there is an Airport in Zaporizhia, but schedule is not that stable and very often it’s easier and cheaper to land in Dnipropetrovsk (100 km) and then take a ride to Zaporizhia. We do arrange such transfers as well as any kind of transportation (car, train, bus) around the region. And sure UkraineTour can book for you a nice downtown hotel for a reduced price or even a private serviced Zaporizhia apartments right at the heart of the city for just $25-50/day!
Regardless of the purpose of your visit, UkraineTour would be glad to welcome you in this industrial city and provide with all kind of tour services you need to make your stay at Zaporizhia one to remember.
