Dnipropetrovsk
Dnipro is the 4th city by population in Ukraine. It has survived many revolutions and changes: from being the third capital of the Russian Empire (after Moscow and St.Petersburg) to becoming Ekaterinoslav, Dnipropetrovsk and, finally, Dnipro. The city with a Soviet past will surprise you with its sights and quick pace of life.
Dnipro city is appealing because of its unique beauty. There are picturesque banks of the wide Dnieper River, bustling avenues and boulevards, unique parks and architectural complexes, universities and academies, hospitals, parks and stadiums for different sporting events, palaces of culture, restaurants and casinos. In the center of the city is the Shevchenko Musical and Drama Theater (founded in 1919 as the first national theater of Ukraine), an Opera House, the Gorky Russian Drama Theater, the Theater of Children and Youth, the Puppet Theater, and the Theater of One Actor. The collection of the Museum of Fine Arts comprises more than seven thousand exhibits, including works of eminent European, Russian and Ukrainian painters.
What was formerly the Briansky Temple is now the House of Organ and Chamber Music, which is situated in the western part of the city and is rightfully viewed as the nicest building in that section of the city. The city’s history, going back more than two centuries, is featured in the exhibits of the Historic Museum. The collection contains hundreds of the most unique exhibits those, together, form the rich history of this Dnipro region, the capital of which has long been Dnipro city. Looking through the pages of this city’s history, one can say that the people are the greatest treasure of the city. This treasure can never lose its value.
We are happy to invite you to Dnipro, to this hospitable and amicable city, to the atmosphere of comfort, joy and cordiality.
